Hello, my name is Cassie
Hello friends!! My name is Cassie and I am almost 10 years old. I have a sister who is 7.
I moved to China about 3 months ago. I originally lived in Canada. On my last vacation, I went to a place called Xi’an. I had lot’s of fun.
Here are some pictures…

What a drum! - At the Drum Tower

So many Terra Cotta Warriors!

Emperor Qin's Tomb

I was going sooo fast!

Look at my face!

Look at all the lights - Great Wild Goose Pagoda fountains

The fountain show was so cool!

1 person asked to take our picture and the next thing we new we were pop stars!

Aw, family photo at the Bell Tower

13 and a half kilometers around the Xi'an Wall, we did it all!

Hey Cassie-
Great blog! I love your pictures of Xi’an. I went with my father and his class. We rode bikes together, too, but didn’t have time to go all the way around. And next time I go, I want to see that fountain display at the Wild Goose Pagoda. That is really cool! Thanks for sharing…

Hi Cassie, thanks for sharing the photos. What an amazing experience you and Katie are having. I am impressed by your blogging and as an adult learner you made me think that perhaps I could take a deep breath and do this too. I have worked with both your mom and dad and they are both fantastic educators and I can see that they are also great parents, as they create so many learning opportunities for you and your sister. I will visit again and see how you and life in China are doing!

What an amazing place. Were the warriors life size? How many were there? Are they dug out of the ground? They look so cool. Thanks for sharing these pictures!

HI Liz! The Warriors were life sized, like 6 feet long!! There were 700 000 people helping to make the Emperor’s tomb and the warriors. There were about (this is an estimate) 2000 soldiers, 100 chariots with 400 horses and 300 Calvary horses, and there are still tons still buried. Thanks for commenting!!

Hi Cassie,
I loved seeing all your photos from Xi’an. It reminded me of my trip to China 3 years ago. I took a teddy bear named Jose with me and we stood at some of the same places you visited now.
You can read about Jose’s adventures on his China Blog
http://www.sjeds.com/blog/china/
and you can see his travel pictures here on Flickr. I am sure you will recognize some of the places too.

Cassie, thanks for answering my questions. I can’t even imagine what it must have been like to stand there among 2000 life sized warriors (plus chariots and horses). Amazing! It sounds so cool. I look forward to learning about your next adventure.

Some amazing pictures here. Looks like you are having a great experience in China. I was there this past summer but unfortunately didn’t get a chance to see Xi’an or the Terra Cotta warriors.
Having been to China, albeit for a few weeks I am interested to know what you feel the biggest adjustment has been for you and your family in transitioning to life in China?

Nice post! It must be great living in China! The pictures were great. Who took them? I have one question… Why did someone want to take your picture? Also when they did how did that make you a pop star? The pictures of you on the rides makes me laugh!

Dear Cassie,
It’s about time I put something down on this thing called BLOG!! It has been interesting for me to read some of the many comments you have received.. You can see now how special is this experience for you and the effect it has on others. The phots from X’ian are paticularly good. It would be intertesting to have photos of the immerdiate area around your appartment building – like views from windows etc.
Thank you for the opportunity to contribute.
Love to you all,
Papa and Granny, Lantzville.

Hi Cassie, The students at our school love your blog. They are fascinated that you have so many visitors! I have asked them to respond via their blog…they do not have their own school e-mail accounts and since I (the teacher) can’t control their personal e-mails, they are not permitted to respond at school. By the way, we are an all-boys school! http://www.chestnuthillacademy.org/
Thanks so much for sharing your blog!
